FAQs: What’s this charge on my credit card?

June 1, 2008 · Leave a Comment

If you’ve just registered for a Summit For Someone climb, you’ll see a $1,000 charge on the credit card you provided — that’s the deposit for your climb.

If you’re less than 60 days away from the date of your climb, we charge the credit card we have on file for the remainder of your fundraising goal. If your goal was $3,800 and you were at $3,500, we charge your card for the remaining $300 when you hit the 30-days-out mark. You still have until 30 days after your climb to continue raising money, at which point we’ll refund you any amount you raised over your goal.
